8 Tips to Flourish this Year
Are you ready to get back on track with your health this year? Here is some encouragement for you!
Personally, I enjoy writing down aspirations for the year and choosing Scriptures to focus on. These are two of my favorites, and I believe they can be applied to our health journey!
Romans 12:1-2 NIV
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters,
in view of God’s mercy,
to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice,
holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.
2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but
be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Then you will be able to test and approve what
God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Proverbs 16:3 NIV
Commit to the Lord
whatever you do,
and
He will establish your plans.
8 Tips to Flourish:
BREAKFAST | Balanced breakfast: protein, fat & fiber rich carbs: boiled eggs + oats or blueberry smoothie
GREENS | Sneak in more greens (green smoothies, omelets, salads, lettuce tacos/ wraps, stir fry…)
WATER | Ample hydration (sip water all day, basic goal ½ body weight in ounces, hydrating foods )
CHEW | Take time to chew to absorb nutrients better
PLANNING | Prepare extra portions of healthy dinners to enjoy leftovers for lunch the next day
COLOR | Create meals with colorful, antioxidant rich foods & herbs (ginger, turmeric, rosemary…)
FRUIT & ROOTS | Choose sweetness in root veggies and fruits rather than refined sugar (carrots, sweet potatoes, beets, berries, pears, pomegranates…)
MOVEMENT | Fit in bursts of activity- walking with your family or a friend, biking, playing with your kids, 5 minutes of stretching morning & evening…
